Exterior Drainage Systems

A French drain is a simple trench drain that absorbs and diverts excessive standing water or rainwater runoff. The perforated drain pipe is buried in the ground and covered with gravel. Since water follows the easiest escape route, the French drain acts like a sponge, collecting water and redirecting it away from your property.

Footer drain or “Drain tile” is installed next to foundation footings, which may be 8-10 feet below the surface. The drain will redirect ground water and relieve hydrostatic pressure around the foundation to prevent seepage and foundation damage.
